ELKE LOUIE ANNOUNCES GYMPIE SHOW FOR DEBUT EP LAVENDER TOUR

Emerging Australian singer-songwriter Elke Louie will return home to Gympie for a local stop on her debut EP LAVENDER tour, offering hometown audiences a special opportunity to experience the new release live.

Following the release of debut single Killing Time in late 2025 and sophomore release Sandman earlier this year, Elke Louie has quickly established herself as a compelling new voice in the Australian indie folk scene. Released on April 24, her debut EP LAVENDER marks a major milestone for the 19-year-old artist, featuring a collection of original songs exploring love, longing, youth, identity and emotional growth.

The Gympie show will be a special hometown celebration and the only local date on the LAVENDER tour.

Audiences can expect an intimate evening of live music in a unique arts setting, with doors opening at 5:00pm and music from 5:30pm. Guests are welcome to BYO picnic hampers & drinks to enjoy during the event, with refreshments and light snack food also available for purchase.

Adding to the evening is a special guest performance by Those Folk, the producers behind Elke Louie’s entire debut EP, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience both the artist and creative collaborators who helped bring LAVENDER to life.

Known for her emotionally resonant songwriting, warm stage presence and distinctive vocal style, Elke has already built an impressive performance history across South East Queensland, including appearances at Spring in the Vale, Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival and Woodfordia’s Lake Gkula recently. She is also front vocalist & guitarist for indie rock band Hugo and the Hive.

A graduate of Gympie State High School’s Music School of Excellence, Elke was awarded Most Outstanding Music Student in both 2022 and 2023, also becoming the first Gympie State High student accepted into the Queensland College of Music Certificate IV in Music via distance.

This all-ages event offers local audiences a rare opportunity to celebrate the release of LAVENDER in the town where Elke’s musical journey began.

This Fellowship supports Brisbane-based artists, arts workers, cultural workers, and creative producers to take the next step in their careers through structured professional development. The Fellowship provides opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals.
REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT FUND (RADF)
RADF is a grants program for artists located outside Brisbane. 59 local councils deliver the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), including Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redland City, and many regional areas. Each Council has differing eligibility rules for it’s RADF offerings, you may have to consult your Council officer for advice on mentoring program eligibility. REGIONAL ARTS FUND

The Regional Arts Fund supports artists and communities in regional and remote areas. There is an address-based eligibility criteria for this funding opportunity. There are two grants on offer:

  • RAF Quick Response Grants: Support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing and may fund mentoring.
  • RAF Project Grants: Provide major funding for high-quality arts projects benefiting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences, and communities. Mentoring may be integrated as an aspect of a larger project.
QUEENSLAND ARTS SHOWCASE PROGRAM (QASP)
The Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP) supports a thriving, inclusive arts sector by investing in bold new work, creative development, and community engagement across the state. Although QASP is primarily project-based, it may also incorporate a mentoring aspect.
