VERATIE to Release Their Debut Single “Ashes”

VERATIE are an alt-rock/nu-metal band based in Southeast Queensland. Formed in 2021 by lead singer-songwriter Sarah and guitarist-beatmaker Connor, VERATIE weaves synth, heavy guitars, and relentless rhythm with soaring melodic and rap vocals. They have already supported names such as The Halo Effect (Europe), Beyond the Black (Europe), Redhook, Devilskin (New Zealand), Lagerstein, Krave, and more.

VERATIE are set to release their debut single “Ashes” on the 1st of September, with bimonthly single releases leading into their upcoming album, IN//HUMAN.

Lead vocalist Sarah describes Ashes as an “unflinching analysis of the relationships we have with others and with ourselves, and the fight to reclaim identity. The track’s resurrection metaphor calls you to unleash your voice and refuse to partner with your own destruction.”

Ashes was recorded, mixed, and produced with James See at Airlock Studios in Brisbane, and mastered by Steve Smart at Studio 301 in Sydney. It is set to release on the 1st of September across all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal.

VERATIE are complementing this release with an official music video, dropping on YouTube on the 8th of September 2024. The clip was conceptualized by frontwoman Sarah and features fire dancers from her performance community. VERATIE’s fingerprints are seen across the whole process, from the underlying narrative to costume and set design. This creative vision was brought to life with the expert eye of Darren Martin at Zero Point Productions.

VERATIE is for fans of Linkin Park, Evanescence, Paramore, Muse, and Spirit Box. They are a band to watch as they rise in the new generation of alternate artists.

Business Basics Grant Program

BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL LORD MAYOR’S CREATIVE FELLOWSHIPS
This Fellowship supports Brisbane-based artists, arts workers, cultural workers, and creative producers to take the next step in their careers through structured professional development. The Fellowship provides opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals.
REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT FUND (RADF)
RADF is a grants program for artists located outside Brisbane. 59 local councils deliver the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), including Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redland City, and many regional areas. Each Council has differing eligibility rules for it’s RADF offerings, you may have to consult your Council officer for advice on mentoring program eligibility. REGIONAL ARTS FUND

The Regional Arts Fund supports artists and communities in regional and remote areas. There is an address-based eligibility criteria for this funding opportunity. There are two grants on offer:

  • RAF Quick Response Grants: Support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing and may fund mentoring.
  • RAF Project Grants: Provide major funding for high-quality arts projects benefiting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences, and communities. Mentoring may be integrated as an aspect of a larger project.
QUEENSLAND ARTS SHOWCASE PROGRAM (QASP)
The Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP) supports a thriving, inclusive arts sector by investing in bold new work, creative development, and community engagement across the state. Although QASP is primarily project-based, it may also incorporate a mentoring aspect.
