VERATIE Release New Single “The Door” – Out July 16

VERATIE (pronounced veh-ruh-tee) are an alt-rock / nu-metal band from Southeast Queensland. Formed in 2021 by lead singer-songwriter Sarah and guitarist-beatmaker Connor, VERATIE overlays evocative melodic and rap vocals over an intricate soundscape of synth, heavy guitars, and relentless rhythm. They’ve already supported major acts like The Halo Effect, Beyond the Black, Redhook, Devilskin, and Lagerstein.

On July 16, 2025, VERATIE will release their fifth single “The Door”, part of their upcoming debut album IN//HUMAN—a concept record exploring humanity, society, machine, and the divine.

With nearly 20K streams across previous singles, VERATIE continues to rise in the heavy music scene.

The Song

“The Door” is described by Sarah as “an emotional gut-punch… not pretty, but real.” Taking over three years to complete due to its emotional weight, it’s VERATIE’s most raw and powerful release to date.

The song uses the image of a locked door as a metaphor for the barrier between a child and their parent—delivering heavy themes of misunderstanding, generational trauma, and hope through dynamic vocals and moody instrumentation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The track was recorded, mixed, and produced by James See at Airlock Studios (Brisbane) and mastered by Steve Smart at Studio 301 (Sydney).

It will be released on all major platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube Music, Amazon Music & Tidal.

This Fellowship supports Brisbane-based artists, arts workers, cultural workers, and creative producers to take the next step in their careers through structured professional development. The Fellowship provides opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals.
REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT FUND (RADF)
RADF is a grants program for artists located outside Brisbane. 59 local councils deliver the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), including Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redland City, and many regional areas. Each Council has differing eligibility rules for it’s RADF offerings, you may have to consult your Council officer for advice on mentoring program eligibility. REGIONAL ARTS FUND

The Regional Arts Fund supports artists and communities in regional and remote areas. There is an address-based eligibility criteria for this funding opportunity. There are two grants on offer:

  • RAF Quick Response Grants: Support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing and may fund mentoring.
  • RAF Project Grants: Provide major funding for high-quality arts projects benefiting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences, and communities. Mentoring may be integrated as an aspect of a larger project.
QUEENSLAND ARTS SHOWCASE PROGRAM (QASP)
The Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP) supports a thriving, inclusive arts sector by investing in bold new work, creative development, and community engagement across the state. Although QASP is primarily project-based, it may also incorporate a mentoring aspect.
