VERATIE Announce New Single “Honey” — A Haunting Glimpse Into What Lies Beneath

Southeast Queensland’s own VERATIE are back with a powerful new release—“Honey”, dropping September 25, 2025across all major platforms. Known for their genre-blending approach to alt-rock and nu-metal, VERATIE combine raw emotion, industrial intensity, and melodic edge in a way that sets them apart in the Australian heavy music scene.

Formed in 2021 by vocalist Sarah and guitarist-beatmaker Connor, and later joined by drummer Patrick, VERATIE have made waves supporting artists like The Halo Effect, Beyond the Black, Redhook, Devilskin, and more. Their upcoming debut album IN//HUMAN promises to be a bold conceptual journey—exploring the interplay between humanity, society, machine, and the divine.

A Song That Bleeds Truth

At the heart of VERATIE’s music is authenticity—and Honey delivers just that. With over 25,000 streams already across earlier singles, Honey is the sixth track leading up to their debut LP and is shaping up to be their most emotionally charged offering yet.

Speaking on the single, Sarah shares:

“Honey captures the unsettling experience of seeing through a charismatic facade. The lyrics drip with imagery to reveal the darker side of charm—the danger that lies beneath, and the scars it leaves behind closed doors.”

Musically, Honey mirrors that duality. Opening with soft piano and delicate vocals, the track quickly reveals jagged textures and ominous undertones. As the chorus hits, listeners are launched into a sonic storm of heavy guitars, intricate samples, and soaring harmonies—culminating in a searing guitar solo that lingers long after the final note.

Business Basics Grant Program
The Business Basics grants program provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice. This includes professional business advice such as mentoring.
BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL LORD MAYOR’S CREATIVE FELLOWSHIPS
This Fellowship supports Brisbane-based artists, arts workers, cultural workers, and creative producers to take the next step in their careers through structured professional development. The Fellowship provides opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals.
REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT FUND (RADF)
RADF is a grants program for artists located outside Brisbane. 59 local councils deliver the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), including Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redland City, and many regional areas. Each Council has differing eligibility rules for it’s RADF offerings, you may have to consult your Council officer for advice on mentoring program eligibility. REGIONAL ARTS FUND

The Regional Arts Fund supports artists and communities in regional and remote areas. There is an address-based eligibility criteria for this funding opportunity. There are two grants on offer:

  • RAF Quick Response Grants: Support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing and may fund mentoring.
  • RAF Project Grants: Provide major funding for high-quality arts projects benefiting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences, and communities. Mentoring may be integrated as an aspect of a larger project.
QUEENSLAND ARTS SHOWCASE PROGRAM (QASP)
The Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP) supports a thriving, inclusive arts sector by investing in bold new work, creative development, and community engagement across the state. Although QASP is primarily project-based, it may also incorporate a mentoring aspect.
