VERATIE are an alt-rock / nu-metal band, based in Southeast
Queensland. Formed in 2021 by lead singer-songwriter Sarah and guitarist-beatmaker
Connor, VERATIE overlays evocative melodic and rap vocals over an intricate blend of
synth, heavy guitars and relentless rhythm. They have already supported names such as
The Halo Effect (Europe), Beyond the Black (Europe), Redhook, Devilskin (New
Zealand), Lagerstein, Krave and more.
VERATIE are set to release their latest single “Great Divide” on the 2nd of May 2025, the
thematic centre & fourth single from their upcoming debut album release – IN//HUMAN.
Front woman and lead songwriter Sarah describes Great Divide as “A dark horse. Hiding
behind a quirky vocal delivery is a powerful & unsettling look at what it is to be human or
inhuman”. Great Divide explores the connections between humanity, technology, and
spirituality. Composed over a heavy synth-driven soundscape, this track combines hard-
hitting alt-rock and nu-metal elements, but with a twist. Delivered in an artificial AI-inspired
vocal style, the lyrics of Great Divide are provocative and deeply philosophical, challenging
everything we know about ourselves.
Great Divide was recorded, mixed and produced with James See at Airlock Studios in
Brisbane and mastered by Steve Smart at Studio 301 in Sydney.
Great Divide is set to release on the 1st of May 2025 across all major platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music, Apple iTunes, YouTube Music, Amazon Music & Tidal.
This release is supported by two single launch shows – Girl Band Night at The Presynct,
Nambour on the 2nd of May & a headlining single launch at Greaser Bar, Fortitude Valley on
the 3rd of May.
