Sunday May 18th – The East Coast Lows

After decades of fronting pop, rock and blues cover bands, lead singer and songwriter, Brian Boyce pulled together The East CoastLows Band (ECL), to deliver punchy, live original blues/blues-rock music to music lovers on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

Paul Lynch (drums), and Jon Brown (bass) lock down the characteristic ECL groove and, by no means the least of ECL’s gifted guitarists over the years, John Mitchell now provides a skilful counterpoint to Brian’s unique vocal timbre, adding the sonic ‘icing’ to the ‘cake’. As implied by the weather term, The East Coast Lows bring a fresh ‘swell’ of musical energy and joy wherever they perform.

Matt & The Mayor

Matt & The Mayor are long respected members of the Sunshine Blues fraternity, absolute festival favourites; Matt & The Mayor play all traditional blues and some originals in the style of the old masters.

The duo, former Noosa Mayor Bob Abbot and Pomona local Matt Purcell have been performing all over the Sunshine Coast since 2020.

Business Basics Grant Program
The Business Basics grants program provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice. This includes professional business advice such as mentoring.
BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL LORD MAYOR’S CREATIVE FELLOWSHIPS
This Fellowship supports Brisbane-based artists, arts workers, cultural workers, and creative producers to take the next step in their careers through structured professional development. The Fellowship provides opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals.
REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT FUND (RADF)
RADF is a grants program for artists located outside Brisbane. 59 local councils deliver the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), including Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redland City, and many regional areas. Each Council has differing eligibility rules for it’s RADF offerings, you may have to consult your Council officer for advice on mentoring program eligibility. REGIONAL ARTS FUND

The Regional Arts Fund supports artists and communities in regional and remote areas. There is an address-based eligibility criteria for this funding opportunity. There are two grants on offer:

  • RAF Quick Response Grants: Support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing and may fund mentoring.
  • RAF Project Grants: Provide major funding for high-quality arts projects benefiting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences, and communities. Mentoring may be integrated as an aspect of a larger project.
QUEENSLAND ARTS SHOWCASE PROGRAM (QASP)
The Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP) supports a thriving, inclusive arts sector by investing in bold new work, creative development, and community engagement across the state. Although QASP is primarily project-based, it may also incorporate a mentoring aspect.
