Lecia Louise Releases New Single ‘Reeperbahn Blues’

Acclaimed Australian blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Lecia Louise has today released her gritty new single “Reeperbahn Blues”, available on all major streaming platforms. The track is the first taste of her highly anticipated 2026 album Strike to Ignite — and it tells a raw, true story drawn from Lecia’s early days touring Europe.

A Song Born from Chaos in Hamburg

“Reeperbahn Blues” was inspired by a real-life incident in Hamburg’s notorious red-light district, the Reeperbahn — a chaotic and colourful strip famously associated with the early days of The Beatles. While performing there with a band called Train Wreck, Lecia’s tour van was broken into, resulting in the loss of a stash of money, her iPhone, and a cherished underwater camera gifted for her birthday.

Despite the heartbreak, Lecia found strength in the moment. The song was written the next morning as she sat on a curb eating a €1 cheeseburger with the last of her cash.

“This song came from a place of sheer exhaustion and disappointment — but also determination. It’s about the tough moments you face as a touring musician, far from home, trying to push through when everything seems against you,” says Lecia.

A Powerful New Chapter in Blues Rock

With fiery guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and high-octane energy, “Reeperbahn Blues” captures both the chaos of that night and the resolve it took to rise above it. The track delivers Lecia’s signature blend of powerful storytelling and passionate blues-infused rock, firmly placing her in the company of artists like Bonnie Raitt, Joe Bonamassa, and Samantha Fish.

Lecia Louise is an internationally recognised guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with a career that has taken her across Europe, Asia, and Australia. Known for her electrifying live shows and heartfelt songwriting, she has performed at major festivals such as Woodford Folk Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Adelaide Guitar Festival, and Airlie Beach Music Festival.

In 2022, she was invited to be a tutor and key performer at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival, further cementing her place as a respected figure in Australia’s blues and rock scene.

She has shared the stage with household names including Ross Wilson, The Black Sorrows, Thirsty Merc, Grinspoon, Killing Heidi, and Daryl Braithwaite, and continues to inspire audiences with her artistry and storytelling.
